It shouldn't be so hard to get the benefits you need (and earned!) to survive while living with your disability. If you believe you were wrongly denied your social security benefits, a non-attorney disability advocate may be the right choice for you to navigate the next steps.
The Social Security Administration is the Federal program that provides assistance to people with disabilities.
Some people pay into Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) while they are working to "insure" themselves and their family with hopes of receiving benefits should they encounter a disabling event that makes them unable to continue working as we were. The other type of assistance provided is Supplemental Security Income (SSI) which provides assistance based purely on financial need. People who are visually impaired or blind can also receive SSI/ SSDI benefits. The disability requirements for both programs are the same, and are based on a sequential evaluation process.
If you are here on our site, chances are you have likely found yourself facing some challenges and have probably been denied the money you expected from your disabling event. Navigating the Social Security bureaucracy can be very difficult, but before you give up, give us a call. Our Disability Advocates are non-attorney representatives who are trained and certified to help you navigate the complex world of Social Security Disability (SSD) claims. Galarraga & Duchette helps you through the initial, reconsideration phases of your SSI/ SSDI claim.
At Galarraga & Duchette, our Advocates have over 50 years of combined experience in a wide range of disability topics including Social Security Disability, vocational rehabilitation, vocational counseling and vocational aspects of Worker's Compensation cases. This experience is critical at Step 4 and Step 5 of the Social Security Administration's Sequential Evaluation Process.
Working with Galarraga & Duchette is working with local people who understand the entire picture of disability and have been actively helping disabled persons for over 30 years. Our advocates are highly trained, have master's level educations, and are vetted by the Social Security Administration, and they participate in continuing education requirements on a yearly basis.
Our non-attorney Social Security Disability Advocates are Maine natives and locals who know and interact with the people involved at the initial, reconsideration, and ALJ levels. Since our Advocates are cross-trained in many different, interwoven aspects of disability such as social security claims, vocational rehabilitation, and mental health counseling they understand where you are coming from and are trained to get you to where you want to be.
You can give us a call or contact us if you know what kind of assistance you need, and one of our Advocates will be able to help you navigate your disability and social security benefits questions,
